With over two decades of experience in hotel operations, branding, and marketing, Sara brings both the art and science of hospitality to life at Olympia Hospitality. As a strategic leader, Sara works closely with property general managers and the home office team to cultivate a service-driven culture while maximizing value for hotel owners. Her hands-on expertise in technical services, new development, and pre-opening transitions ensures each property opens with precision and a distinct sense of place.

Sara has led numerous successful projects, including the openings of The Alfond Inn at Rollins College, SOPHY – Hyde Park, The Hotel at Oberlin at Oberlin College, and The Inn at Swarthmore at Swarthmore College. Her career spans from leadership roles at prestigious properties to her current position as President of Hotel Management at Olympia, where she continually redefines hospitality excellence.

John Schultzel

Chief Growth Officer

With over two decades at Olympia Hospitality, John brings a dynamic blend of expertise in operations, concept development, and financial analytics, allowing him to view hospitality from owner and operator perspectives. This well-rounded insight informs Olympia’s growth strategy and operational approach, embodying the art and science of hospitality that defines our brand.

As Chief Growth Officer, John is instrumental in guiding new development and expansion opportunities. He works closely with a diverse group of owners and adapts to each project's unique needs. His tenure and connection with Olympia’s operating teams ensure that every property meets high standards and delivers a distinctive guest experience.

Mike Zimmerman

President, Development

Mike Zimmerman brings over two decades of expertise in construction management and real estate development. As President of Development for Olympia Hospitality, Mike oversees the design and construction of new developments and renovations, ensuring each project embodies Olympia’s commitment to exceptional guest experiences. During his tenure with Olympia, Mike has led diverse teams of architects, designers, engineers, and construction managers to bring a wide array of hospitality projects to life, including luxury boutique hotels with signature dining, select-service franchised properties, and distinctive resort destinations.

Dan Flaherty

Senior Advisor

Dan Flaherty is responsible for creating long-term value and sustainability for Olympia’s existing hotel and office buildings assets. His previous responsibilities as Vice President of Finance and as President of Olympia Hotel Management, give him unique insights into evaluating projects and achieving optimal investments performance. Dan exhibits an intense commitment to excellence, drive for continuous improvement, exacting attention to detail and rigorous work process. Dan earned his MBA from Plymouth State College, a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maine, and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Southern Maine. Dan is a Maine Certified Public Accountant and member of the Maine Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
